The Italian Center for clay Ocarinas C.I.O., with its seat in Via Sant'Alberto,
323 40018 - San Pietro in Casale (Bo) Italy ph. 051 811635, is involved in the
diffusion of this likeable and efficient musical instrument which had a brief
but intense life.
First appearing in the second half of the last century, it didn't survive the
end of the century, even though it was incredibly popular and provoked unanimous
approval from both musicians and music lovers at the time.
Its diffusion is to be br ought about by virtue of the refound quality in the
making of handmade instruments, which can efficiently reproduce music, both
from the past and composed by contemporary authors.
The center is also working on a didactic level to produce meth ods, studies,
exercises and literature suitable for the ocarina.
Our thanks to the C.I.O. Verbania section (directed by Paolo Gavelli) for its
outstanding artistic activities that enhance the Italian panorama related on
ocarina.
