A new size of ocarina quadrupla is now available: the Tenor G4. This instrument has a range comparable with the range of a violin: G4-c7. Despite that, we managed to keep the width of the holes similar to that of the alto quadrupla, as it is evident from the comparison between the two models.
The extreme possible development of
multi-chamber ocarinas probably is the quadruple one. This ocarina has
a smaller fourth chamber added to the already tested and reliable
Tripla.
The quadruple may reach a range of two octaves and a fourth, keeping at
the same time the relative playability of the tripla. The playability
of the new multi-chamber ocarinas has been obtained thanks to the
ergonomic position of the finger holes in the fourth row and the
rational relationship of the fingering of the new chamber with that of
the other three.
The ocarina quadrupla fingering manages to be consistent throughout the whole instrument: in fact chambers Nos. 2, 3 and 4 have the same fingering, being the fourth chamber a fourth above the third one. Hence, the fourth chamber has a range of a perfect fifth (Bb-F) not counting the lower semitone produced by the sub-hole.
These are fingerings for the fourth chamber only. The other three chambers follow those of the Tripla Pacchioni.
